Hi there! My name is Oleksii.

I am a professional guitarist who graduated from R. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music. I hold a Master’s degree in Musical Art, and a Junior Specialist (with honors) and Bachelor’s degree (with honors) from the same institution as well. A laureate of all-Ukrainian and international competitions, a participant of international festivals. I have been playing the guitar since 2008.

I have plenty of concert experience being a part of cover bands (InWhite, Waves, Joys, Starlight, and others), stage bands, and with Ukrainian artists (Olia Poliakova, Diana Gloster, Vasia Demchuk, Team A, Nikita Kiselov). I’ve been cooperating with the music production “PokyTySpav Production”, working in an orchestra, and I am a co-founder of the music group ASSAFF.

The Ukrainian cover of the Boombox song “Vakhteram” with my participation has numbered more than 4 million views.

More than 10 years of teaching experience.

My students are from all over the world (the UK, the USA, Brazil, Canada, and other countries). I teach in Ukrainian and English, live and online, and conduct ensemble classes.

My teaching philosophy is to rely on the individual preferences of each student, so I’ve created my electronic sheet music library, which I regularly supplement and expand. It appears to me riveting to analyze new works for students in the format they find convenient.

I use my very own methodology based on my real practical experience. I also use the manual schools of Frank Gembale, Troy Stetina, Ross Bolton, Mel Bay, and Nelson Faria.

In addition to the practical approach, I consider the theoretical aspect highly important. As I see it, for a full-fledged performance of a work, in addition to the applied method, you need to attach great importance to the analysis of musical laws: order, harmonic sequence, form, rhythm, meter, and drama.

My goal is to give the students an understanding of music. I strive to teach them the ability to learn new works all by themselves, play “by ear”, improvise, and see the structure and the logic of musical art. My most common method in working on a musical piece is the inductive one, which means that comprehending and working out all the individual nuances leads to understanding the general concept.

I’m keen on discovering new music and love opening and multiplying my students’ musical potential. I am so excited when students find new opportunities in themselves and master the skills and techniques that have seemed to be unattainable to them before.
